RBT Training

The Registered Behavioral Technician training course at the Southern Technical Institute fulfills the requirements for the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) application for becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Additionally, it meets the training requirements for working as an RBT with commercial insurance, Medicaid, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), the Department of Children and Families (DCF), and the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD).

• 40-hour online video-based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Training designed to meet and exceed the certification criteria set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). We are committed to delivering an educational experience that educates and instills confidence. Participants must pass with 75% or above on the final exam to receive a certificate for eligibility to be assessed.
• 3-hour “Question & Answer” Zoom Session—During your online RBT course, STI will schedule a live Zoom session with an instructor to answer questions and provide guidance on the content covered.
• Competency Assessment & Supervision—Southern Technical Institute will coordinate with a Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) to complete a one-on-one competency and supervision assessment. A successful competency assessment is a prerequisite for taking the board certification exam. The BCBA will submit a signed attestation directly to the BACB.

• Three (2-hour) Live Webinar Exam Prep Sessions – To ensure your preparation for taking the RBT certification exam, STI will schedule you for a three-series Zoom session taught by RBT. This course will assist you in preparing your study time and provide examples of what to expect for the exam.
• 90-Day Access to Exam Simulator – STI will enroll you into an exam prep to provide you the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of applied behavior analysis and the tasks likely to be performed by RBTs. This course is comprised of a series of learning module sets containing over 500 unique questions.

Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Eligibility Requirements

For you to obtain the Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) credential through the Behavioral Analysis Certification Board (BACB) you must meet the following requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age; and
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent; and
• Successfully pass a Level II Criminal Background Check to be completed within 180 days of the Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) application.
• Successfully complete an approved 40-hour RBT Training course.
• Effectively complete a competency & supervision assessment by a Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst signed and submitted directly to the BACB.
• Achieve satisfactory results on the 85 multiple-choice Registered Behavior Technician written exam.
